Located along both sides of the Bosque River just off South Elm Street, City Park spreads across approximately 43 acres and includes 3 covered pavilions, RV spaces, picnic areas, restrooms with shower facilities, a volleyball court, 2 playgrounds and a horseshoe area. It also includes over 1 mile of paved hike and bike trails along the tree lined, north bank of the Bosque River, 2 baseball/softball fields, 1 T-ball/youth field, a large soccer field, a concession stand and an aquatic spray park. Our park is open to the public year round and is the site of the annual Old Settlers' Reunion and the Hico Livestock Show.
The campground has 20 recently renovated sites with full hook-ups (50, 30 and 20 amp outlets) and WiFi. Spacious and nestled amongst large burr oak and pecan trees, most of the sites are of the pull-through variety. Generally, sites are available for $25/day (see the RV Park Page for discounts and premiums). Reservations can be made at Hico City Hall (254-796-4620). Located next to City Hall on West First Street, Peppermint Square includes a log cabin which was once home to some of Hico's early settlers, a stage for outdoor concerts and presentations, a gazebo where the local JP occasionally conducts wedding ceremonies and a set of public restrooms.
Located next to the traffic light at the intersection of Highways 281 and 6, Culbreath park is home to a log cabin and to the local farmer's market.
